Our Journey
Connect City Church West (formerly All For Jesus Western) began as a small cell-group in Hoppers Crossing, with around 5 families. After much prayer and seeking God’s face, the cell-group began to grow in numbers, and was formally recognised as a satellite church in August 2001, under the visionary leadership of Pastors Max and Genny Flores.
For the first few years, CCC West held its Sunday services in a small community hall on Ridge Drive, Wyndham Vale, big enough to accommodate 50 people. As our numbers continued to increase, it was clear that we needed a larger venue. Unbeknownst to us, a new community facility was being developed in Wyndham Vale, which was only a kilometre away from where we were located. In 2004, God enabled us to relocate to the then newly built venue, Iramoo Community Centre. It was here that we experienced radical change, and a passion stirred in the hearts of its people to rise up and accept the challenge to serve God and the community like never before. The year 2006 was a great milestone for us, as we celebrated our 5th year Church Anniversary, with the theme “How Great is Our God!” From here on, CCC West began to receive prophetic messages about continued growth, exponential impact and the biggest of them all…having a church building of our own!
In 2007, our Senior Pastor, Buddy Abadilla reaffirmed that CCC West will have its own building, and the Church took this challenge to obtain one before its 10th year Church Anniversary. A “Building Fund Committee” was formed to commence raising funds and searching for a building. As with all projects, this was executed with immense prayer and support by all members.
By years end, way before the Church’s 10th year anniversary, the Committee found a suitable venue, and through the generous gifts and donations of members and non-members, God enabled us to purchase the former Salvation Army property situated on 15 Perkins Avenue, Hoppers Crossing.
The first service at our “new home” was held on Sunday 20th of January 2008, followed by a “Grand Opening” the week after. We were blessed and fortunate to have the then Mayor of Wyndham, Councillor Kim McAliney formally open the building, and recognise CCC West as an active member of the City of Wyndham.
To date, God is continuing to do amazing things not only in the lives of individuals, but also in the very heart of our community – the City of Wyndham.
We do not take any credit for all that God has done…but it is to our King, Jesus Christ, whom we give all the praise, glory and honour forever and ever and ever!
